The unique design of this particular filter paper does not include a crepe inside, resulting in a relatively smaller inside surface area. However, this seemingly limited space plays a crucial role in the brewing process. The coffee fine powders effectively attach within this small area, resulting in a reduced water path inside the paper filter. As a consequence, water begins to accumulate and build up within the filter paper.

 

This build-up of water creates an ideal environment for the extraction of flavours. As the water accumulates, it allows for prolonged contact with the coffee grounds, enhancing the release of aromatic compounds and resulting in a more pronounced and aromatic cup of coffee. The accumulation of water within the paper filter promotes the extraction of the coffee's full range of flavours, contributing to a rich and flavourful brew.

 

Furthermore, the presence of the outside crepe in the filter paper facilitates a smooth flow of the coffee liquid.
